Real Life Stories

Part of the Family

Becoming a Big Brother was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. I was matched with my Little Brother, Saquan, in 2002, when he was 11 years old. He is now a sophomore in college, and we consider him a member of our family. It has been unbelievably rewarding to see this young teenager, who was somewhat shy and awkward when I first met him, blossom into a confident, friendly and mature young adult. And he is not the only one who has grown in this relationship.

Through my relationship with Saquan, I have seen first-hand how a willingness to give just a little of your time and energy can make your life more fulfilling and satisfying that you could ever imagine. The Big Brothers/Little Brothers Program truly transforms lives for the better in deeply profound ways.
