Whenever I tell people what Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut does, I’m often asked, “How can I help?” I’m inspired by that question and always take the opportunity to highlight the many ways the community can support our programs, including our latest venture - I’d like to let you know about a wonderful new partnership we’ve formed with Savers, the national thrift retailer, and how it will help broaden our community support.

Good all around

Contributions of household items and clothing have long been part of the simple, convenient and valuable way for the community to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut. Thanks to this partnership with Savers, a Community Donation Center is now open at the new Savers store in Orange (130 Boston Post Road), which will hold its grand opening for shoppers on January 14. The Community Donation Center is set up to receive donations of clothing, furniture, and other household items, and, as always, you can call us to schedule a pick-up at your home. 1-877-399-2570

What you may not realize is that Savers pays Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut for the donations delivered to the Community Donation Center in Orange, in addition to our home pick-ups. Savers supports more than 120 nonprofit alliances in the U.S. and abroad, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut is proud to be part of that network.

Through this new partnership with Savers, anyone in the southwestern Connecticut region can support our mission simply by donating or by shopping. It’s good all around!

Through our partnership with Savers, your donations of clothing, clothing accessories, shoes, books, bedding items, draperies, housewares and furniture, toys, games, radios and small appliances help support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut.

These donations are tax-deductible and you will be provided with a receipt at the time of pick-up. Receipts are also available at the donation center.
